Ghana’s robust football establishment fosters talent development- FIFA Instructor – Citi Sports Online

FIFA instructor Edward Franklin has highlighted that Ghana has a vigorous football establishment capable of developing talent for its national team to compete at the highest level.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council has established four new developmental national teams for boys and five for girls.
The GFA now has boys’ teams at U-16, U-18, U-19, and U-21 levels, alongside existing U-17, U-20, and U-23 teams. For girls, the teams are set at U-16, U-18, U-19, U-21, and U-23 levels.
Additionally, U-15 teams for both boys and girls serve as feeder teams for the U-17 categories.

Edward Franklin, a former Head of Academy Elite Performance at Reading Football Club, mentioned this at the recently concluded FIFA Talent Development Scheme in Accra, emphasizing that these efforts will significantly benefit Ghana.
Ghana has got so many talents. living in England I see a lot of players coming from Africa and go into the premier league, it’s fantastic.
I was formerly in an academy, we had players in our academy from Ghana coming through into our first team.
You guys have got such untapped talent and some big development establishment to find these talents and give them an opportunity.
Long may that continue, because you’ve got some world beaters, that’s for sure.
Held annually in each confederation, the Talent Development Scheme aims to help member associations fulfill their potential by ensuring that every talented player has the opportunity to be identified, trained, and developed for the national teams.
