MOORHEAD — The top-seeded Dakota Fusion fell to the No. 2 Duluth FC BlueGreens 1-0 on Saturday night in the National Premier Soccer League North Conference Final at Jim Gotta Stadium.
Duluth forward Edouard Nys scored the game’s only goal in the 35th minute of the first half. Nys buried a centering pass that trickled into the lower left part of the net.
The BlueGreens advance to the three-team NPSL Midwest Regional playoffs. Winners of the North, Gateway and Great Lakes conferences will compete in the three-team playoffs.
The Fusion will continue their season with a semifinals matchup in the National Independent Soccer Association Great Lakes Region Independent Cup against FC Milwaukee Torrent at 7 p.m. Friday, July 19, in Wisconsin.
