Marcus Thuram “carried Inter Milan on his shoulder” with another big match display against AC Milan.
Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, rate the France international’s performance at 8/10.
Thuram has been enjoying a truly outstanding debut season with Inter.
Prior to the start of the campaign, the expectation was that the 26-year-old would need some time to adapt before he really started to show his best form.
That has not really been the case, though.
Thuram has been one of Inter’s key players. The 26-year-old has provided goals, assists, and a constant threat to break down opposition defenses.
Moreover, Thuram has often saved his best performances for the big occasion.
The Frenchman can hardly be accused of only being decisive in the matches against smaller teams.
Thuram has stood up to be counted against all of Serie A’s top sides.
The former Borussia Monchengladbach has also made a habit of scoring goals that have decided matches. For example, he scored the only goals in 1-0 wins over Benfica and Roma.
Thuram also scored in the very first Milan derby that he played in.
The Frenchman was on the scoresheet in the Nerazzurri’s 5-1 demolition of their city rivals in September.
And Thuram has shown that that was not any sort of fluke.
The 26-year-old was once again Inter’s outstanding player in attack against the Rossoneri yesterday.
Thuram scored Inter’s second goal to give them daylight against Milan as they clinched the Serie A title in the derby for the first time in history.
It was a brilliant effort into the near corner from outside the box.
And it was only the brightest moment in what was an excellent display.
Thuram was confident and electric, with his technical ability, pace, and composure in the final third at the heart of a title-winning display for Inter.
