The Middle Tennessee women’s soccer program and head coach Aston Rhoden has announced the additions of incoming senior transfer Hannah Opie and freshman Olivia Best to the 2025 signing class.

Opie is a defender from Murfreesboro who played at Stewarts Creek High School. She will enter her senior season after playing three seasons with the Chattanooga Mocs from 2022-2024. Opie appeared in 18 matches in 2024, making 15 starts on the backline. She played a career-high 1,198 total minutes for the season, logging the full 90 minutes in five games.

“Hannah is an experienced and tenacious defender,” MTSU coach Aston Rhoden said. “She has a good engine, can play inside or outside and is very good in 1 vs. 1 situations.”

Best is an incoming freshman forward, hailing from Apex, N.C. Prior to joining the Blue Raiders for the upcoming fall season, she will graduate from Crossroads Flex High School in the spring of 2025.
On the club level, she has played for the NC Courage Academy since 2019. Prior to that stint, Best spent six seasons with the Mustang Soccer Club in Danville, Calif. from 2012-2018. Best also featured for the Northern Ireland U17 team during the Euro Qualifiers in Malta, which included two starts two wins.

“Olivia is very versatile attacker who can play centrally or wide,” Rhoden said. “She has incredible pace, awareness, and is a strong 1v1 attacker. She will be a fun and exciting player to watch.”
