Florida football wide receiver Brian Green Jr. was arrested on a first-degree misdemeanor battery charge (dating violence) following an altercation with his girlfriend in a parking garage.
Green was booked in Alachua County Jail on Monday and was released on his own recognizance.
According to a Gainesville Police Report, Green and the victim engaged in an argument that escalated. The victim claimed Green grabbed her. After being read his rights by the arresting officer, Green admitted to poking her in the face to get her attention. According to the report, surveillance footage from the garage showed Green poked the victim in the face “multiple times.”
Per terms of Green’s release, a standing no contact order toward the victim was issued.
Green Jr., from Orange Park, joined the Florida Gators as a preferred walk-on in 2023 but did not appear in a game last season.
Earlier this month, in UF’s spring game, Green was one of 11 walk-ons to earn the Louis Oliver Outstanding Non-Scholarship Player Award. During the spring game, Green had one catch for 11 yards.
