India’s first FIFA World Cup qualifier against Afghanistan will be played away from home on 21 March 21 in Abha Saudi Arabia followed by the second game at Guwahati on 26 March.
Indian men’s football team coach Igor Stimac on Thursday announced the names of 35 probables for the two matches against Afghanistan in the second round of 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. The first match will be played away from home on 21 March in Abha Saudi Arabia followed by the second game at Guwahati on 26 March.
India are currently third in the Group A of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers 2026 which also doubles up as the qualification tournament for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup. The Sunil Chhetri-led Blue Tigers have won one out of the two matches played so far in the second round of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers. The victory, a 1-0 win, came against Kuwait away from home.
