For the first time in more than three decades, the FIFA men’s World Cup is returning to North America in 2026, with New England expected to host several games as part of the storied tournament.
In total, 104 games will be played across 16 different venues located in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Boston was announced as one of the host cities for the 2026 World Cup in June 2022, with Gillette Stadium expected to host seven total games, including a quarterfinal match.

Here’s a look at the dates for Gillette Stadium’s 2026 World Cup matches:
June 13, 2026: Group Stage
June 16, 2026: Group Stage
June 19, 2026: Group Stage
June 23, 2026: Group Stage
June 26, 2026: Group Stage
June 29, 2026: Round of 32
July 9, 2026: Quarterfinal
Matchups are still to be determined for the 2026 World Cup, which will mark the first time the tournament will allow 48 total teams to participate — up from the 32 nationals that competed in Qatar in 2022.
The World Cup Final will be held at MetLife Stadium, the home of the New York Giants and New York Jets, on July 19.
