FIFA World Cup 2026 – DiscoverPHL – Discover Philadelphia

In the summer of 2022, FIFA selected Philadelphia as one of the 11 cities in the United States to host World Cup matches in 2026.
Now, all eyes are on Philadelphia as the city prepares to bring the world’s largest sporting event to the country’s most passionate fanbase. The city will share this distinction along with 15 other cities across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The City of Philadelphia and Lincoln Financial Field will host six matches in the summer of 2026. The matches schedule includes five group stage matches and one round of 16 match. The dates of those matches are:
“The unveiling of the FIFA World Cup match schedule marks a pivotal moment for our city and its hospitality community as we prepare to welcome the world in 2026. With each of the six matches having the impact of a standalone mega-event, akin to a citywide convention, we anticipate a surge in economic activity across the region,” said Gregg Caren, president and CEO of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau.
“This influx of visitors will not only fill our hotels but also boost local businesses as fans from around the globe follow the excitement of each match as competing countries are paired up. As we prepare to showcase our city on this global stage, we are ready to leverage our expertise in hosting major events to ensure a successful World Cup experience in Philadelphia.”
To build momentum, FIFA, PHL Sports, and Philadelphia Soccer 2026 launched Philadelphia’s brand and logo in the spring of 2023. Philadelphia’s logo includes fragmented design elements as an homage to the Liberty Bell’s crack and the Philadelphia Art Museum’s steps. Combined with the logos of the 15 other Host Cities, the designs create one united “We Are 26” brand. FIFA joined Philadelphia officials to unveil the logo and banner at Lincoln Financial Field.
Philadelphia Soccer 2026
Philadelphia has successfully hosted many large-scale events, including the Republican and Democratic National Conventions, the NFL Draft, and the Papal Visit. The city can expect more exciting events in the years to come — including the 2023 Premier League Summer Series. But the 2026 FIFA World Cup™ will be a once-in-a-generation event to experience. Truly the biggest sporting event in the world, 48 countries will compete in 104 matches over six weeks across North America.

PHL Sports, the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau’s sports division, works to ensure seamless events for organizers and fans alike. They will continue to work with Philadelphia Soccer 2026 and other local partners to host the World Cup.
