Fifa Women's Club World Cup: First competition set for 2026 – BBC

Barcelona have won two out of three of the last Champions League titles
Fifa says it's going to start a global womens club tournament so teams from around the world can play each other in one competition.
The first ever Women's Club World Cup will take place in 2026.
There has never been a Fifa Women’s Club World Cup previously, while the men’s has been running since 2000, and the current holders are Manchester City.
The tournament will be between 16 teams and will be held every four years, however it has not yet been announced who will host it.

This new 'World Cup' will have clubs play each other rather than countries – like Spain.
The competition will take place in January and February during the domestic season for the European leagues.
Fifa says the ideas is part of its plan to encourage womens football grow around the world.
Currently the best teams all come from Europe, North America and South America.
Barcelona are European Champions League holders, whilst NY Gotham FC are the reigning National Women's Soccer League champions.
The Brazilian side Corinthians are the holders of the South American version of the womens Champions League, the Copa Libertadores Femenina.
