FIFA on Monday signed longtime sponsor Anheuser-Busch InBev to a deal covering the Club World Cup in the United States next year.
Terms of the deal, including a player-of-the-match award, weren’t disclosed.
“This partnership with the FIFA Club World Cup continues our legacy of bringing beer and sports together for fans around the world, creating more moments of celebration and cheers,” said A-B InBev CEO Michel Doukeris, in a statement. “We look forward to activating this first-of-its-kind tournament next summer in partnership with FIFA.”
The Club World Cup will be played in 12 stadiums in 11 U.S. cities from June 15 to July 13. Its lineup will include recent Champions League winners Real Madrid and Manchester City.
The U.S. in 2026 will host the separate men’s 2026 World Cup. Canada and Mexico are also hosting that event.
A-B InBev’s third-quarter results came in below analysts’ expectations, with U.S. volume declines of 0.4% year-over-year. The volume decline was an improvement over past quarters, with the controversy over a Bud Light market partnership with a transgender influencer appearing to abate more, Barron’s reported. But volume declines were sharp in Asia amid weak Chinese consumer demand, the publication said.
