FIFA have confirmed the draw for the 2025 Club World Cup which will take place on 5 December 2024.
The extended 32-team tournament is set to take place in June and July 2025, but draw will take place in three weeks’ time, when each team will be placed in one of the eight groups, consisting of four teams.
The draw will take place at 13:00 local time in Miami, and 20:00 SA time.
Mamelodi Sundowns are one of the four African teams who qualified for the tournament, while 31 of the 32 teams have already been confirmed after Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami became the latest side to book their ticket.
South Africa will have more eyes on the tournament, with Rulani’s Mokwena’s Wydad Athletic Club as well as Percy Tau’s Al Ahly and Elias Mokwana’s ES Tunis also among the qualified teams.
The final team will come from the Copa Libertadores final between Atletico Mineiro and Botafogo, which is set to take place on 30 November.
