Participation in the FIFA Club World Cup is a key part of the reason why Betsson have agreed a main shirt sponsorship deal with Inter Milan.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.
Yesterday, Inter confirmed that they have signed a partnership with Swedish betting company Betsson as their Official Main Partner.
The insertion of the company’s logo on the front of their shirt is the main aspect of this partnership.
And Inter confirmed that it is a four-year deal.
This new partnership marks a major milestone for Inter under the ownership of Oaktree Capital.
For one thing, the Nerazzurri have just seen their revenues from shirt sponsorship skyrocket.
From €11 million coming in from Paramount+, Inter will reportedly pocket €30 million per season from Betsson.
And furthermore, this is a longer-term partnership rather than just a one-season deal like last summer’s agreement with Paramount+.
Therefore, Inter will not be in a position of trying to find a new main shirt sponsor in twelve months’ time.
There is no doubt that the deal with Betsson is a lucrative one for Inter.
And it is also evidence that the club have been doing well in terms of their brand.
Part of that has to do with the club’s work behind the scenes. But their successes on the pitch are also a part of it.
The last few seasons have been positive ones for Inter in terms of results and trophies. Last season’s Serie A title victory was the culmination of that.
Therefore, it is not too surprising that Betsson would choose Inter as their first partner within Italian football.
But according to Tuttosport, the most decisive factor in the betting company’s decision is Inter qualifying for the next Club World Cup.
That will be a high-profile competition, and in Betsson’s eyes the exposure makes a big money shirt deal with Inter worth it.
