Group A
England win 3-2 against Georgia, after extra-time.
Georgia struck first, scoring just a minute into the match through Jalagania. However, England swiftly responded with Clarke’s brace, and gave them a 2-1 lead by the end of the first period.
The second period saw Georgia’s equaliser through Lomidze, that levelled the score at 2-2. It was goalless in the third period, with neither team able to break the deadlock.
At the extra time, England’s Lawson scored the decisive goal, and secured the hard-fought 3-2 victory for the Three Lions. The win with two points, is the first in three games for England.
Spain win 7-0 against Azerbaijan.
Spain delivered a commanding performance, defeating Azerbaijan. The Spanish side dominated the first period, scoring three goals through Suli Batis and Chiky Ardil’s brace.
Spain increased their goals to six in the second period, courtesy of D. Ardil, J. Oliver, and Joselito’s efforts. Azerbaijan struggled to find the net but Spain’s relentless offence kept them down.
In the third period, Spain sealed their convincing victory with a solitary goal from D. Ardil’s second goal, completing the 7-0 scoreline. The one-sided contest completed three win in three games for Spain.
Group B
Italy won 13-2 against Czechia.
Italy dominated Czechia in their second Group B encounter, delivering a clinical performance. The Italians stormed out, scoring four goals in the first period through D’Agostino, Bertacca, Giordani, and Sciacca.
Italy continued their rampage in the second period, adding three more goals courtesy of Andriani, Fazzini, and Josep Jr. Czechia managed to score their first goal through Folejtar, but trailed 7-1 into the final period.
In the third period, Italy unleashed more devastating attack, scoring six goals through Andriani, Fazzini, Alla, Barsotti, and Ruda. Czechia scored their second goal, but it was too little, too late. Italy’s convincing 13-2 victory made their second straight win.
Group C
Estonia win 7-0 against Kazakhstan.
Estonia dominated Kazakhstan from the start, scored two goals in the first period through Thompson and Munskind. This early advantage set the tone for the match.
In the second period, Estonia continued their offensive surge, with Munskind’s brace goal and Marmor’s strike, added two more goals which gave them a 4-0 lead at the end of the period.
The third period saw Estonia sealed a convincing victory with three more goals from Alaväli, Nõmmiko, and Kotter. Kazakhstan’s sole consolation was avoiding further disciplinary issues beyond a single yellow card, as Estonia took home all the seven goals in the match, their second win in three games.
Portugal win 7-3 against Germany.
Portugal made a blistering start with three goals in the first period through Jordan, Leo Martins and Pintado. This early advantage gave Portugal momentum going into the second period with 3-0 advantage.
The Portuguese side continued their dominance in the second period, as they added three goals from Algarvio and Jordan’s brace. Germany finally found the net through Peterson’s strike, but the period ended 6-1 still in Portugal’s advantage.
In the third period, Portugal added to their tally with another goal but also conceded an own goal. However, Germany’s late surge wasn’t enough to overcome Portugal’s substantial lead, as they secured their third consecutive victory with a convincing 7-3 win.
Group D
Belarus win 8-4 against Moldova.
Belarus got victory over Moldova in their second Group D encounter, after a thrilling contest. The Belarusians recorded the first goal of the match midway through the first period, courtesy of Bryshatel’s strike. However, Moldova’s Turta equalised shortly after, to level the score 1-1 into the break.
The second period saw Belarus score twice, despite accumulating three yellow cards. Turta secured his brace goal for Moldova, but Belarus ensure their 3-2 lead into the final period, where they pulled away with additional five goals to seal their 8-4 win. Moldova unable to overcome Belarus’s decisive surge, only managed two additional goals.
Notably, Belarus accumulated all four yellow cards in the match, but their win was the second in two games.
Group F
Poland win 8-1 against Ukraine.
Poland asserted their dominance over Ukraine with a resounding victory in their Group F clash. The Polish onslaught started early in the first period with four goals through Karolak, Jesionowski, Brochocki, and Kłopeć.
Poland continued their attack in the second period, adding two goals more, courtesy of Brochocki and Bistuła. Ukraine struggled to find their feet, but unable to respond to Poland’s relentless offence.
In the third period, Ukraine finally broke through with a goal from Zborovskyi. However, Poland promptly responded with additional goals from Błaszczuk and Brochocki, which sealed their convincing 8-1 win. Poland, now with two wins in as many games.
