Fargo Davies defeats Minot 2-1 in Class A soccer championship game – KVLY

MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) – The Fargo Davies Eagles won their fourth state championship in program history as they defeated Minot 2-1 in the NDHSAA Class A girls soccer championship game.
Davies senior captain and UMary signee Madison Barnick scored both goals for the Eagles on long-range efforts.
Momentum shifted Minot’s way with 20 minutes remaining in the second half as Julia Lewis cut the deficit to one goal and Emerson Perrin — who sustained an early injury and had her left arm in a sling — returned to action.
The Majettes came inches from an equalizer as both Maicee Burke and Perrin hit the post on consecutive shots.
The loss is Minot’s first in exactly five years when they fell in the 2019 state title game to Shanley/Oak Grove. Since then, the Majettes compiled a 70-game unbeaten streak that included 69 wins and one draw. Minot finishes the season 19-0-1 while scoring 131 goals and conceding three.
