The 2024 NFL Draft is in the rearview mirror and dynasty rookie drafts are underway. While fantasy football redraft season is still a few months away, it’s never too early to look at early average draft position (ADP) numbers. Some players left the 2024 NFL Draft with their fantasy football value heading in the right direction. Unfortunately, other players saw their fantasy football value take a significant hit. Let’s look at veterans fantasy football ADP fallers.

As you prepare for your redraft fantasy football leagues or take part in best ball drafts, let’s dive into players trending down following the 2024 NFL Draft.
Josh Allen (QB – BUF)
Buffalo lost their top two wide receivers from last season, including Stefon Diggs. Yet, they traded back twice during the NFL Draft, allowing two teams to move up for a wide receiver. While the Bills selected Keon Coleman at the start of Day 2, the former Florida State star lacks the upside to be a go-to No. 1 wide receiver. Unfortunately, he was the only pass-catcher Buffalo drafted this year. While Allen is still an elite fantasy quarterback, he shouldn’t be the overall QB1 in any fantasy rankings or ADP.
Kyren Williams (RB – LAR)
Williams was the RB6 in half-PPR scoring last season despite missing five games. However, he led the NFL in rushing attempts per game (19) but wasn’t an efficient runner. Williams had a lower explosive run rate than Craig Reynolds and a worse yards after contact per attempt average than Samaje Perine in 2023 (per Fantasy Points Data). He won’t see the volume needed to be a top-five running back after the Rams drafted Blake Corum and lacks the efficiency to make up for the decrease in touches.
Deebo Samuel (WR – SF)
NFL Draft weekend was full of trade rumors surrounding the 49ers. Brandon Aiyuk was potentially on his way out the door, making Samuel the clear-cut No. 1 pass-catcher in San Francisco. Reportedly, the 49ers explored trading the veteran receiver after failing to move Aiyuk on Day 1 of the NFL Draft. Instead, the team kept Aiyuk and Samuel while spending their first-round pick on Ricky Pearsall. Samuel went from possibly being Josh Allen’s No. 1 target to playing in an even more crowded receiver room in San Francisco.
Michael Mayer (TE – LV)
Unfortunately, Mayer is a double loser coming out of the NFL Draft. Las Vegas was the favorite to draft Michael Penix Jr. Instead, they got shut out on the quarterback run, forcing them to stick with Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew this year. More importantly, the Raiders drafted Brock Bowers with their first-round pick. While Bowers and Mayer are different types of tight ends, the rookie creates more competition for targets alongside Davante Adams, Jakobi Meyers and Michael Gallup. Any hope of Mayer having a sophomore-year breakout is over.
