TULSA, Okla. — The family of a student who suffered cardiac arrest during a 2022 football game chaired the Tulsa Heart Ball.
The American Heart Association’s Tulsa Heart Ball was held Saturday evening at the Mayo Hotel in downtown Tulsa.
The event is held to celebrate the progress community members have made towards making sure people live healthier lives. It also raises funds for The American Heart Association.
Chairing this year’s event was the Cottom family.
In 2022, Collin Cottom’s heart stopped and he collapsed at an away game hosted by Victory Christian in 2022.
He and his family credit two bystanders knowing CPR and using the AED his team brought to the game with saving his life.
Funds raised at the event will go towards supporting local efforts aimed at saving and improving lives from heart disease and stroke.
The event also presented the 2024 Class of Sweethearts and Mavericks,
