EA College Football 25
EA hasn’t revealed an official release date for the upcoming EA College Football game, but a recent post from NFL content creator Dov Kleiman says the game is “expected” to be available on July 19.
Kleiman, who has long provided NFL info and stories for his near-300K followers on X, posted on April 8, but he didn’t give a source. I reached out to EA to confirm if the date was valid but haven’t received a response.
When a response is provided, I will update this article for accuracy.
The July 19 date, which is separate from examining the report’s validity, is not implausible. The NCAA Football series is traditionally released in July, and the official announcement often comes in April.
Going back as far as the 2011 announcement of NCAA Football 12, EA published the video below on April 18, and the game’s official release date was July 12.
We know Madden 25 will be released in August, as it does annually, and thus, it would make sense for EA College Football to land about a month ahead of the NFL product.
It all seemingly lines up for an official announcement of the release date sometime very soon. It would not be a shock to see the game’s release date revealed on April 25, which is the day of the 2024 NFL Draft.
There is an obvious tie-in to the college game, and the impending release will give fans a more immediate product to anticipate as their thirst for virtual gridiron action is heightened by the draft.
Anticipation for the game’s release seems to have grown in the past four months. We’ve seen announcement trailers and received news that more than 10,000 college players opted in to be included in the game.
Players who opt in will be paid $600 and receive a copy of the game in exchange for the use of their name and likeness.
Add in the 134 FBS schools, the 12-team College Playoff format, and the very likely inclusion of Ultimate Team, and we could be looking at the biggest sports video game hit of the year.
Stay tuned for official information on the highly anticipated return of college football to the video gaming world.
