Before attempting a final push to bowl eligibility, the UCF Knights will take a breather.
They will not play Saturday, instead enjoying their second bye week of the 2024 college football season.
They need to win their final two games — at West Virginia on Nov. 23 and at home against Utah on Nov. 29 — to book a bowl trip for the ninth straight year. If they don’t, they’ll be sitting at home through the postseason for the first time since 2015.
UCF (4-6, 2-5 Big 12) split its two most recent games. Two weeks ago, it snapped a five-game losing streak with a Space Game blowout of Arizona. Last Saturday, it fell to Arizona State on the road.
Here’s what you need to know about the Knights’ remaining schedule:
No. The Knights will take the weekend off for the second time this season.
Prior to their first open date on Sept. 21, they sat 3-0. Afterward, they dropped five in a row. They’ll hope that scenario doesn’t repeat itself in the final two weeks of the campaign.
Next Saturday, UCF will head to Morgantown, West Virginia, to battle the Mountaineers (5-4). Kickoff time at Milan Puskar Stadium has not yet been announced.
On Black Friday, the Knights will host Utah (4-5) to close the regular season. The game, set for 8 p.m., will air on FOX.
