The bye has finally come for NC State football.
After playing eight consecutive weeks to open up the 2024 college football season, the Wolfpack (4-4, 1-3 in ACC play) are finally idle this week as the rest of the Atlantic Coast Conference gets ready to go at it on the gridiron.
Dave Doeren’s squad picked up its fourth win of the season (and first ACC win) last week on the road at Cal, sending NC State into the bye with a .500 overall record. True freshman quarterback CJ Bailey has thrown for 1,376 yards and eight touchdowns since taking over for an injured Grayson McCall in Week 3. McCall announced this week that he is medically retiring after six seasons in college football.
Here’s when the Wolfpack are set to return, including a look at NC State’s remaining schedule:
No, the Wolfpack is on bye in Week 9. It is the first bye week of the 2024 season for NC State, which returns to action next Saturday at home against Stanford.
Next week’s game against Stanford will start a two-game stretch for NC State before its second bye week on Nov. 16, as the Wolfpack will host cross-state rival Duke at Carter-Finley Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 9.
Following its second bye week, NC State will round out the season with a two-game road trip to Georgia Tech on Nov. 21 and North Carolina on Nov. 30.
