Dakota Alliance Director of Soccer is excited about Presidents Cup Regional in Sioux Falls – Dakota News Now

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -There’s a big time soccer tournament coming to Sioux Falls this week. 186 teams from 13 states will compete in the Midwest Regional Presidents Cup Tournament.
I had Frank Gurnick of the Dakota Alliance Soccer Club on Calling All Sports this afternoon and he’s pretty excited about another big event coming to Sioux Falls.
Frank Gurnick, Dakota Alliance says, “To be able to host a week long type of event we believe is better for the local economy, better for the exposure for the sport, and it allows our kids to be able to sleep in their own beds and compete on their home turf. What we do is we use this Presidents Cup as a way to motivate our teams and challenge our teams to get better and as a result we’re producing more teams that are able to participate and compete in these regional events and national events.”
There will be 1 champion crowned in each age Division starting at 13 for boys and girls.
There are 4 regions nationwide and the National Tournament is in Wichita, KS. Championship games are Tuesday and the tournament is being played at Yankton Trails.
