With the curtains closed on another soccer season, it’s time to hand out some awards.
Here’s the 2024 All-Sentinel Girls Soccer Team, which includes Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, First Team and Second Team honorees and Honorable Mentions.
Abby Freese, sr., M, Northern
Abby Freese scored one of the Polar Bears’ five goals in a 5-0 home victory over Lower Dauphin Tuesday.
Freese’s leadership and her ability to contribute at all levels of the field made her a key piece in the Polar Bears’ continued success. The Central Michigan commit tied together Northern’s quick and effective attack with its signature lock-down defense, which helped Northern reach the District 3 Class 4A championship game and qualify for states in its first season as a Class 4A program. Freese was rewarded with an All-State selection by Pennsylvania’s soccer coaches. 2023 All-Sentinel Second Team.
Keith Munshower, Northern
Not only did the Polar Bears move up into the large-school classification for the 2024 season, but they landed in the competitive Keystone Division as well. Munshower, a longtime assistant at Northern, took the reins when Seth Lehman stepped down as head coach in the offseason, and made sure the transition was a seamless one. The Polar Bears played with a fearlessness that landed them an 18-3-1 record, a share of the Keystone title and trips to the District 3 Class 4A championship game and PIAA Class 4A tournament.
Mackenzie Seiber, so., F, Boiling Springs

After setting the Bubblers’ single-season scoring record as a freshman, Seiber’s scoring tear continued through her sophomore season that saw her net 30 goals with eight assists. Her offensive output powered the Bubblers to a 16-4 record, a Mid-Penn Colonial crown and a postseason run to the District 3 Class 2A semifinals. 2023 All-Sentinel First Team.
Marissa McGuire, sr., F, Camp Hill

Leading the Lions in scoring with 34 points (13 goals, 8 assists), McGuire’s scoring touch came through in the clutch during Camp Hill’s run to the District 3 Class A title. The senior netted game-winning goals in the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds and recorded an assist in a win over Lancaster Mennonite for district gold.
Mia Scherr, so., F, Trinity

Scherr stepped into a bigger role in the Trinity lineup and established herself as one of the area’s top finishers. Her 25 goals. Her production helped Trinity reach the District 3 Class 2A championship game and the PIAA Class 2A quarterfinals.2023 All-Sentinel Honorable Mention.
Cece Beem, jr., M, Camp Hill

Less than a year after tearing an ACL, Beem was one of the most consistent and effective players in Camp Hill’s district title run. The Lions went 0-4 without Beem in the early stages of the regular season but roared to a 15-4 record with her. 2023 All-Sentinel First Team.
Madison Gill, so., M, East Pennsboro
With 13 goals and 20 assists as a sophomore, Gill continued her growth on an East Pennsboro program that finished the season with a 15-4 record and returned to the district quarterfinals for the third straight year. Gill earned Capital Division Player of the Year honors from the Mid-Penn’s coaches. 2023 All-Sentinel Honorable Meniton.
Karli DaCosta, sr., M, Red Land
A Lycoming commit for soccer and basketball, DaCosta scored four goals and added four assists in her swan song with the Patriots. She also served as a team leader and a catalyst for Red Land throughout her varsity career. 2023 All-Sentinel Honorable Mention.
Sienna Manns, sr., D, Cumberland Valley

A stalwart on the Eagles’ back line, Manns brought experience, skill and athleticism to a Cumberland Valley defense that shut out 12 opponents and helped CV advance to the District 3 Class 4A quarterfinals. Manns also registered seven goals with one assist. 2023 All-Sentinel Second Team.
Ashley Deiter, jr., D, Northern
Deiter anchored the Polar Bears’ back line and helped Northern post one of its stingiest seasons in program history. The Polar Bears posted eight shutouts and allowed one goal or fewer in 21 of their 22 games, including all five of their postseason contests. 2023 All-Sentinel Honorable Mention.
Alexandra Black, sr., D, Mechanicsburg
The Wildcats weren’t fazed by a move to the Mid-Penn’s Commonwealth Division, as a steady defensive effort helped smooth the transition. Black headlined a defense that pitched eight shutouts and never allowed more than two goals in a single game. 2023 All-Sentinel First Team.
Emma Bucklen, jr., GK, East Pennsboro
Bucklen’s 13 shutouts in 2024 booted her career total to 28. The junior stared down some of the area’s top attackers in the Mid-Penn Capital Division and made enough saves to give the Panthers a chance to win every night. Her performance landed her a First Team Capital All-Division nod by the conference’s coaches. 2023 All-Sentinel Honorable Mention.
