Canyon Ridge’s TJ Brewer signs his National Letter of Intent with the College of Southern Idaho men’s soccer team on Tuesday at Canyon Ridge High School.
The pieces are complete for College of Southern Idaho’s inaugural soccer staff.
CSI named Andrew Zaleski as the associate head coach for men’s and women’s soccer, the school announced Wednesday.
Andrew Zaleski, CSI’s associate head soccer coach, visits company during a cross-country signing ceremony on May 9 at CSI in Twin Falls.
Zaleski, who most recently coached in Florida, will assist head coach Alex Ferreira. The staff also includes goalkeeping coach Alex Maia.
The College of Southern Idaho’s first soccer coach, Alex Ferreira, plans to prioritize Idaho players in recruiting.
“I’m excited that we were able to bring coach Andrew to the technical staff at CSI,” Ferreira said in a press release. “His skill set completes the staff we currently have working with the soccer program. He has experience collegiately in the USA and abroad in England, which will add to the experience of the players in our programs.”
Zaleski served as the campus and goalkeeper director at Florida Celtic Soccer Club for the past four years. He spent two seasons as a men’s and women’s assistant for NCAA Division II Florida Southern College.
His resume shows lengthy experience as he spent two seasons as an assistant coach with Whittier College in California. He served as the junior varsity coach at Mater Dei High School in Santa Anna, California, and coached at North Huntington Beach FC.
Zaleski hails from Richmond, Indiana, the same hometown as Ferreira. Zaleski holds a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with a minor in coaching from Indiana State University and a master’s degree in Sport Coaching from the University of Gloucestershire in England.
“I want to thank (athletic director) Joel (Bate), coach Alex and the hiring committee for the opportunity to come to Twin Falls,” Zaleski said in a press release. “I’m genuinely excited to be here in Idaho and to help grow the interest in soccer in the area. I’m fully committed to building a highly competitive soccer program that meets the high standards of our other sports here at CSI.”
CSI’s soccer season begins in August.
CSI announced plans to add men’s and women’s soccer programs as well as its intent to play all home games at a new outdoor recreation facility being developed in Jerome.
