The transfer portal for college football is about to get very busy for Colorado and other teams around the country.
On Monday morning, On3Sports reported that CU defensive lineman Chazz Wallace plans to enter the transfer portal, the first CU player to leave for the portal this spring. It didn’t take long for him to have company.
Also on Monday, On3Sports reported that safety Jaden Milliner-Jones and offensive linemen Isaiah Jatta and Savion Washington also plan to enter the transfer portal. The 15-day spring transfer portal window for undergraduates opens Tuesday and runs through April 30.
A 6-foot-2, 295-pound senior with one year of eligibility remaining, Wallace played in 11 games last season for the Buffs, posting 11 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. Wallace played three seasons at Old Dominion before transferring to CU a year ago. At ODU, he played in 23 games, with 47 tackles and 2.5 sacks.
Washington was the Buffaloes’ starter at right tackle for 10 games last season. The 6-foot-8, 320-pounder missed two games with an injury but played 660 snaps over the course of the 2023 season. Washington transferred to CU a year ago from Kent State, where he was an 11-game starter in 2022.
With Washington leaving, all five of CU’s regular starters in the line in 2023 are now gone, which isn’t much of a surprise. The line struggled all year and head coach Deion Sanders has brought in five experienced transfers, as well as top prep recruit Jordan Seaton.
Jatta, a 6-6, 300-pound tackle, played in 11 games with one start, seeing most of his time on special teams. Jatta came to CU a year ago as a transfer from Snow College in Utah.
Miller-Jones was one of the top young players on the roster, coming to CU out of DeSoto (Texas) High School last year. By the end of the season, he was a key player off the bench for the Buffs. He played in all 12 games, including one as a starter, and posted 25 tackles and three pass breakups.
It was also reported Monday that former CU defensive end Deeve Harris will enter the transfer portal. Harris, who played in all 12 games as a reserve last season, left the Buffs prior to the spring. He came to CU a year ago from Old Dominion.
