The last college football bowl game to be played before Christmas will take place in sunny Hawaii of all places.
South Florida (6-6) and San Jose State (7-5) will meet up in the Hawaii Bowl on Tuesday, Dec. 24 at 8 p.m. ET on the campus of the University of Hawaii in Honolulu.
USF will look for its second straight bowl win under second-year coach Alex Golesh. The Bulls, appearing in their 12th bowl game in their 24 seasons at the FBS level, have won seven of their last 11 (and three of last four) bowl games.
The Spartans are appearing in their third consecutive bowl game and their second straight Hawaii Bowl, losing last year’s appearance to Coastal Carolina 24-14. If the Spartans want to return home with a win this time to Hawaii, they will need a big day from wide receiver Nick Nash, who became the fourth player in FBS history to win the receiving triple crown this season: He leads the country in receptions (104), receiving touchdowns (16) and receiving yards (1,382).
