For the final time this season, a bowl game that’s not part of the College Football Playoff will be staged.
As the playoff heads into its semifinal round next week with Penn State taking on Notre Dame and Ohio State squaring off against Texas, there remains one last bowl game between postseason eligible teams that aren’t competing for a national championship.
That distinction belongs to the Bahamas Bowl, which will pit Buffalo against Liberty Saturday in one of the more unique settings for a game during bowl season.

The Bulls enjoyed a five-win improvement in their first season under coach Pete Lembo, going from 3-9 to 8-4, while the Flames went 8-3, a step back from their undefeated regular season in 2023 that earned them a spot in the Fiesta Bowl.
