A College Football Playoff quarterfinals game headlines the New Year’s Eve slate of college football games.
No. 3 Boise State will look to continue its impressive run against No. 6 Penn State in the Fiesta Bowl at 6:30 p.m. CT on Tuesday inside State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, with the winner advancing to the CFP semifinals.
The Nittany Lions beat No. 11 SMU 38-10 in the CFP first-round to advance to the quarterfinals, a first in program history. Boise State star running back Ashton Jeanty enters’ Tuesday’s CFP game 131 rushing yards away from tying Barry Sanders’ single-season rushing record.
But before one of the CFP semifinal spots are secured, several bowl game trophies will be handed out. These bowl games include No. 11 Alabama at Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl — a rematch of last year’s Rose Bowl — and No. 14 South Carolina at No. 21 Illinois in the Citrus Bowl.
