Almost a month after winning a state championship, Cocoa quarterback Brady Hart was named Florida Dairy Farmers Mr. Football for the 2024 season.
Hart was a key part of the Cocoa team that finished the season 11-3 and won its third straight state championship. The quarterback threw for 4,360 yards and 40 touchdown passes in the latest championship winning season for the Tigers.
Cocoa defeated Gadsden County 38-27 on Dec. 12 in the Class 2A state championship game. Hart finished with 260 passing yards, one touchdown pass, and one rushing touchdown in the win.
After being named Class 2A player of the year, Hart finished with 131 points and 10 first place votes to win the title of Mr. Football. Venice’s Jamarice Wilder finished as runner-up in the voting for Mr. Football.
With Cocoa receiver Jayvan Boggs becoming the first Brevard County football player to be named Mr. Football last year and Hart winning the title for this season, Cocoa becomes the first school to have players received the honor of being named Mr. Football in back-to-back seasons.
Late last year, Hart announced his decision to play collegiate football for Texas A&M university and also reclassified to the class of 2025.
