Clemson men’s soccer is playing for its second national championship in three seasons in Monday’s College Cup national championship game against Notre Dame in Louisville.
The Tigers (14-3-5) won 1-0 against West Virginia on Friday to earn a spot in the national title game. Clemson has yet to concede a goal in NCAA Tournament play.
Notre Dame (13-2-6) won 1-0 against Oregon State on Friday to advance. The Fighting Irish settled that game in regulation following consecutive NCAA Tournament games that were settled by penalty kicks.
Clemson and Notre Dame played on Sept. 9, a 3-2 Notre Dame win in South Bend.
The Tigers last won the national championship in 2021 with a title game win over Washington. Monday’s game will be the sixth national championship game appearance in program history; Clemson has won three national titles (1984, 1987, 2021).
