CFP rankings live updates: What Big Ten teams can expect for Tuesday bracket reveal – Detroit Free Press

The wait and anticipation is finally over.
The first look at what the new 12-team College Football Playoff field may look like has arrived, as the first CFP rankings will be released in just an hour — and the Big Ten conference is expected to have a key presence in them.
Oregon, who has been No. 1 in the US LBM Coaches Poll for the last three weeks, is expected to be the No. 1 team in Tuesday’s College Football Playoff rankings. The Ducks are expected to be joined by Ohio State, Penn State and Indiana in the CFP rankings come the end of Tuesday night.
The Buckeyes, who moved up to No. 3 in this week’s Coaches Poll, are the current betting favorites to win the College Football Playoff after their Week 10 win over then-No. 3 Penn State, according to BetMGM. Tuesday’s release of the College Football Playoff rankings is the first of six to come leading up to the final rankings on Sunday, Dec. 8.
Here’s a live look at where Big Ten teams stand in the first College Football Playoff rankings, which will be released Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET heading into Week 11 of the college football season:

Tuesday’s release of the first College Football Playoff rankings will take place at 7 p.m. ET.

Oregon is the consensus No. 1 in the College Football Playoffs according to ESPN’s experts. Four of the 12 voters have Indiana at No. 5, while the other eight have Ohio State at No. 5. Penn State finds itself near the bottom following Saturday’s loss. Click through to see how they picked.

For the first time in the College Football Playoff era, the CFP will be more than just four teams, expanding to 12 total: five automatic qualifiers and seven at-larges. The previous model of the CFP, in use from 2014 through 2023, allowed for only four teams to make the playoff.
