Central Women’s Soccer Draws with Luther, Men’s Soccer Fall to the Norse – KNIA KRLS Radio

Central Women’s Soccer Team Battles for a Draw
Despite putting eight shots on goal, the Central College women’s soccer team was unable to find the back of the net leading to a 0-0 draw against Luther College.
Central (8-5-1, 1-2-1 American Rivers) outshot the Norse 15-4, and also had a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks. Goalkeeper Zoey Sizemore saved the two shots she faced. The Dutch had a chance to score in the 56th minute, when Grace Coates drew a foul in the box, leading to a penalty shot that was saved by the Luther goalkeeper. Coates, Kylie Bloomstrom, and Alli Seegers all had two shots on goal to lead the team.
The Dutch return to the pitch at 3 pm on Saturday, competing at Wartburg College.

Central Men’s Soccer Team Suffers Loss to Luther
After a scoreless first half and a competitive second half, the Central College men’s soccer team conceded a late goal and fell 1-0 against Luther College on Tuesday.
The Dutch (6-4-2, 2-1-1 American Rivers) were outshot by the Norse 12-6 but five of the six shots for Central were on goal. Ronan Murphy was strong in goal, collecting six saves. Josh Wilson was the only Central player with multiple shots on goal. Luther scored the game’s lone goal in the 78th minute.
The Dutch will look to rebound on Saturday, when they go on the road to Wartburg College at 5:30 pm.
