(ST. JOSEPH, MO) – Central High School running back Gabe Fields is SEC bound, committing Friday to play college football at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Fields had offers from multiple Division 1 programs, Iowa State, Baylor, Navy, Air Force, Harvard, Cornell, Penn, Yale, UNLV, Toledo, and Kent State were just some of the schools that wanted Fields.
As a junior last season for the Central Indians, Fields rushed for a career high 1,265 yards on 156 carries and scored 21 rushing touchdowns while averaging 8.1 yards a carry.
As a sophomore he had 1,251 rushing yards and 17 rushing scores. So Fields has proven he can be a productive runner.
He’ll have one more season playing for the Indians this fall.
