Bulletin Board: Montague Elks Lodge 2521 hosting a soccer shoot on Aug. 24 – The Recorder

Montague Elks Lodge 2521 is hosting a soccer shoot on August 24 at Franklin County Technical School. 
The shoot is open for boys and girls ages seven and under and ages 8-15. Registration starts at 9 a.m. with the shoot starting at 10 a.m. Participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate, baptismal record or passport to verify age.
Winners of each contest are eligible to advance to the next level of Elks competition. Call or text Linda Morey at 413-522-3145 for any questions.
DRIVE League
Frontier’s Max Millette scored 30 points while Alex Ellis chipped in nine points as the Redhawks knocked off Narragansett, 59-52, in a boys varsity contest in the DRIVE League at Greenfield High School Thursday. 
Max Kauffman scored 19 points while Adden Bancroft added 15 points for Narragansett. 
Later, Ben Hare scored 16 points as Keene beat Orange, 74-49. Derek Collins scored 21 points while Jayden Delgado scored 17 points in the loss.
Also on Thursday Brattleboro beat Turners, 49-26, behind 21 points from Oscar Korson and eight points from Owen Dascomb. Jackson Cogswell led the Thunder with seven points.

Freedom Credit Union 11, Gruber and Tripp 4 — Ben Koppenheffer and Eli Koppenheffer each had three hits as Freedom advanced to the AA championship game with a win on Thursday. 
Sean Degen had three hits while Cooper Deane pitched for Gruber. 
Tri-County League
Hilltown Tents 7, People’s Bank 6 — Owen Phelps struck out five while Marshall Ingram recorded the save in Hilltown’s victory on Thursday at Mackenzie Stadium in Holyoke. 
Colin Cloutier tallied three hits and two RBIs, Michael Bassett had a pair of hits and RBIs while Tyler McLain doubled twice in the win. 
Brew Crew 15, Conway 13 — Brittany Deres tallied four hits, one a double, and five RBIs while Caitlin Johnston singled, doubled and tripled and knocked in four in Brew Crew’s Pioneer Valley Women’s League win Thursday. 
Emma Ram singled, doubled, tripled and drove in five runs, Kristin Smead tallied four hits and an RBI in the loss.
