STARKVILLE — In this age of college football, nothing can be counted out, included a commitment on an official visit over Instagram live.
That was the case for three-star cornerback Derrion Horsley, whose mom announced he had committed while videoing his photo shoot Saturday night during his official visit on the social media app.
Horsley, the No. 78-rated cornerback in the 2025 class per 247sports, picked the Bulldogs over a handful of Group of Five offers, including East Carolina, Georgia State, Marshall, Troy, South Florida and Western Kentucky.
Horsley, from East Coweta High School in Sharpsburg, Georgia, became the Bulldogs’ fifth commit in the 2025 class, which includes four-star quarterback KaMario Taylor (Macon), four-star defensive lineman Tyshun Willis (Camden), three-star linebacker AJ Rice (Madison, Ala.) and three-star punter Jack Richardson (Madison).
Mississippi State’s 2025 recruiting class entered the day ranked 71st in college football, but with numerous commitments expected during a packed weekend of official visits, that number should move up.
GenesPage.com is planning to connect with Horsley following the conclusion of his official visit at the end of the weekend.
