BREAKING: Coveted athlete commits to WVU Football, talks decision – 247Sports

West Virginia University has picked up a commitment from Richmond (VA) Trinity Episcopal athlete Terrance Edwards, known as “Deuce” to his friends and teammates. The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder chose the Mountaineers over fellow finalists Virginia Tech and Michigan State, but had a total of 25 offers to his name.

“I picked them because it felt like family,” Edwards told EerSports. “The players embraced me and the coaches love me and are excited to help me accomplish my dreams and goals. I also picked them because, if I wasn’t playing football, I could see myself there as a student still and building relationships.”

Edwards took an official visit to WVU the first weekend of the summer, and followed that with a trip to Virginia Tech the following weekend. Michigan State worked to schedule an official for this weekend, but Edwards informed them earlier in the week that he was canceling and committing to WVU instead of coming up to East Lansing.

Edwards received a three-star, 88-rating from 247Sports as the nation’s No. 37 athlete. Stay tuned to EerSports for more on this breaking story.
