The Falcons announced the newest member of the women’s soccer coaching staff on Saturday, assistant coach Steven Samuel.
Samuel joins Bowling Green after two years as an assistant coach at Coastal Carolina University, where he helped the Chanticleers improve on a 3-12-2 record in 2023 by ending 2024 at 8-7-6, the first overall winning record for the program since 2017.
“I am thrilled to add Steven to our staff,” said head coach Chris Fox. “He is a highly motivated individual with a wealth of experience at the Division I level. Steven is a tireless recruiter, has a growth mindset, and firmly believes in positional play soccer.”
Previously to his time in Conway, Samuel helped the Old Dominion Monarchs to their first Sun Belt Conference title in as many years in 2022 as a volunteer assistant coach.
The Lagos, Nigeria native also spent time at UMBC and Mount St. Mary’s, helping the Mountaineer offense to a 2021 season that saw the most team goals in nearly a decade.
Samuel fills the final vacant spot on the BGSU coaching staff, joining head coach Fox and assistant coach Kate Larbes for the upcoming 2025 season.
