Betting favorites emerge in 2024 college football title odds race – Sports Illustrated

As expected, it’s the SEC and Big Ten running neck-and-neck in the 2024 college football national championships odds race at the big sports books.
Georgia and Ohio State had similar fates to end last season, losing to a rival late in the year and missing out on the College Football Playoff, but the SEC and Big Ten football powers also share something in common heading into 2024, especially if you ask bettors at the sports books.
Both schools are currently in the lead nationally with +350 odds to win the national championship this season, according to the latest numbers at BetMGM.
What’s more, BetMGM’s John Ewing noted that a total of 41 percent of the money currently being bet on college football’s national title race is going to Ohio State, in particular. That amounts to roughly two bets out of every five that are going with the Buckeyes to go all the way.
Our own predictions run in line with the current betting favorites, as we projected that Georgia and Ohio State will meet in the national championship game, with the Big Ten team coming out on top.
