Benedictine College football holds annual Spring Game to wrap up spring camp – KQ2.com

(ATCHISON, KS) – The Benedictine College football team had their annual spring game on Saturday, with the white team coming away with a 20-4 victory.
The only touchdowns of the game were scored from a 1 yard rushing touchdown from sophomore quarterback Jackson Dooley on the first drive of the game for the White team. Then in the fourth quarter, sophomore running back Sam Torline added a 1 yard rushing score.
“I’m just really looking forward to coaching our team again in the fall and we’ve got really a lot to build off of,” said head coach Joel Osborn “We return 18 starters, the guys are fired up and they’re working really hard. We’ve developed a lot of depth on our team and our coaching staff’s done a remarkable job of keeping our guys here. In the day and age of college football, we’ve had a lot of guys choose to stay here, which I’m really excited about. It’s just it’s going to be really fun fall.”
“It’s not as much the spring game, it’s the whole spring put together. It gets tough. The defense, they watch us practice all week. They kind of know our stuff, but it’s always good to get out there, get the band out and get a little fan atmosphere,” said Dooley.
Benedictine College looking to build off of last season’s 8-3 record. The Ravens open the season August 31st on the road against Morningside in Sioux City, Iowa. Then a week later on September 7th, Benedictine College will have its home opener against William Penn.
