The stars of FC Barcelona continue to shine in Dubai for the Globe Soccer Awards. The gala presentation took place on Friday 27 December and Barça Women, Aitana Bonmatí and Lamine Yamal were all recipients of an award to continue the blaugranes’ success in 2024.
In 2024 the Barça Women’s team claimed the league title, the Spanish Super Cup, the Copa de la Reina and the Champions League – reasons enough to be named the best women’s team of 2024 at the Globe Soccer Awards.
Not only were there team prizes but also individual awards for Barça. Aitana Bonmatí picked up yet another accolade to go with her Ballon d’Or, FIFA The Best and Sant Jordi Cross awards when she was named best women’s player for 2024.
Barça’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal was also rewarded for his spectacular 2024 which has seen him pick up the Golden Boy award and the Kopa Trophy on an individual level. At the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, the blaugrana forward was named best emerging player for 2024, and his delight at the ceremony was plain to see. “I am very proud of this season and I want to thank my family, Barça, the Spanish national team, and the Barça coaching staff, now with Hansi Flick,” said the blaugrana number 17 as he received this latest accolade.
