Bangladesh’s T20 World Cup squad: Shakib named in Shanto-led side – Al Jazeera English

The 37-year-old all-rounder has played 36 matches in all previous editions of the tournament from 2007 to 2022.
Bangladesh have included experienced all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan in their 15-man squad for the Twenty20 World Cup in the West Indies and the United States next month.
The team will be led by batsman Najmul Hossain Shanto, who was named skipper in all three formats of the game this year amid uncertainty over the availability of Shakib who was dealing with an eye problem.
The former captain made a comeback to T20 international cricket after a gap of nearly a year this month in the home series against Zimbabwe, claiming five wickets in two matches.
The 37-year-old is serving as a parliamentarian after winning a seat for the governing Awami League party in the polls conducted in January.
