Argentina Copa America Hero Declares: ‘I Want To Keep My Inter Milan Form Going’ & ‘Erase’ FIFA World Cup Disappointment – SempreInter.com

Lautaro Martinez is hoping that he can keep transferring his form as Inter Milan captain to Argentina at the Copa America.
The 26-year-old spoke to TyC Sports, via FCInterNews, after scoring both goals in a 2-0 Albiceleste win over Peru.
Martinez has now scored four goals for Argentina at the Copa America.
The Inter captain scored in each of the Albiceleste’s first two group stage matches at the tournament, against the likes of Canada and Chile.
Both of those goals came off the bench for Martinez.
Then, the 26-year-old made his first start at the Copa yesterday, in Argentina’s final group stage match against Peru.
Martinez bagged a brace to bring his total at the tournament to four so far.
This is hardly surprising for a player who finished last season as the top scorer not just for Inter, but in all of Serie A.
However, Martinez is still not a nailed-on starter for Argentina. That is perhaps a lingering effect of the World Cup in 2022.
In Qatar, Martinez failed to score or assist a goal, giving an opening to Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez to replace him leading Argentina’s line.
However, Martinez is proving this summer that he can certainly have his say for the Albiceleste.
Martinez won the man of the match award for his brace against Peru.
The Inter captain declared while receiving the award that “I’m happy because I’ve scored in all of the matches so far at the Copa.”
“And because I’ve helped the team. That’s what really matters.”
“But I’m doing well,” Martinez said. “As I already said after the match against Chile.”
“I did very well last season with Inter, and I’m feeling good,” Martinez said.
“I feel ready to erase what I wasn’t able to do at the World Cup.”

“Now I’m carrying over my form, and I have to keep going like this.”
