Albany pro-soccer stadium project names architectural firm – WNYT NewsChannel 13

An architecture firm has been hired to design the professional soccer stadium planned for downtown Albany.
Business For Good and other investors announced Thursday that Populous is hired to design the Major League Soccer NEXT Pro Stadium project.
The global design firm will develop the master plan and stadium design for the major sports development coming to the Capital Region.
It’s expected to hold between 8,000 people for sports events, with a capacity to expand to 12,000 for other events.
As NewsChannel 13 has reported Albany County officials say the goal is to open the stadium in June 2026.
