A University of Alabama football player is facing a lawsuit after he allegedly fled the scene of an accident that left a Tuscaloosa man seriously injured last year.
The suit alleges that on Oct. 1, the plaintiff, Timothy Moore, was passing through the intersection of Jack Warner Parkway and Hackberry Lane when the driver’s side of his vehicle was struck by that of Reed Harradine, causing him to spin out.
Harradine, a sophomore placekicker for the Crimson Tide and Mountain Brook native, had reportedly failed to yield to Moore’s green light and “negligently, recklessly, and/or wantonly” attempted to make a left turn at the intersection.

Following the crash, Moore was transported by ambulance to DCH Medical Center for treatment for “serious bodily injuries to his head, neck, back, shoulders, and left side,” according to the lawsuit, while Harradine allegedly left the area before police could arrive.
The suit further alleges that Harradine refused to speak to UAPD officers and waited until the next day to admit that he had been driving the vehicle involved in the crash.
Attorneys representing Harradine and his family gave the following statement on their behalf to WVTM 13, vehemently disagreeing with the claims that Moore was seriously injured in the accident:
“Mr. Moore’s attorneys are attempting to damage our son’s reputation to promote their law firm. It is shameful that the lawyers for Mr. Moore would try the case in the media. It is unusual, if not unheard of, for a law firm to hold a press conference regarding a traffic collision.
“Last week, our attorneys requested documentation regarding Mr. Moore’s alleged serious injuries. That is something requested in any case. Counsel for Mr. Moore did not produce any such documentation and instead filed the lawsuit one day after receiving the request. We disagree with allegations suggesting Mr. Moore was seriously injured in the collision.
We all look forward to presenting a vigorous defense in a court room.”

Serious Injury Law Group, who is representing Moore, plans to hold a press conference Tuesday morning to further address the lawsuit.
