FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas’ first Southeastern Conference football game against Texas on Nov. 16 has been scheduled for an 11 a.m. kickoff at Reynolds Razorback Stadium. The game will be televised by ESPN or ABC.
It will be the first conference game between the teams since the Razorbacks’ final season as a member of the Southwest Conference in 1991. The Longhorns will join the SEC on July 1.
Times and networks previously were announced for Arkansas’ season opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff in Little Rock on Aug. 29 (6:30 p.m., ESPN), Sept. 7 game at Oklahoma State (11 a.m., ABC) and Sept. 14 on-campus opener against Alabama-Birmingham (3:15 p.m., SEC Network).
The SEC on Tuesday listed approximate start times for the rest of Arkansas’ games in 2024. The Razorbacks will play early games at Mississippi State on Oct. 26 and at home against Ole Miss on Nov. 2; afternoon games against Texas A&M in Arlington, Texas, on Sept. 28 and at Missouri on Nov. 30; and a night game against LSU on Oct. 19 in Fayetteville.
The SEC announced flex scheduling for Arkansas’ games at Auburn on Sept. 21 and at home against Tennessee on Oct. 5. The Razorbacks will control the kickoff time for the Nov. 23 home game against Louisiana Tech, which will only be available via streaming on ESPN+ and SEC Network+.
Flex games can be show either during afternoon or night windows. Kickoff times will be announced by six days prior to each game.
The early games will kick off between 11 a.m. and noon; afternoon games will start between 2:30-3:30 p.m.; and the night games will start between 5-7 p.m.
This is the first year of a new media rights agreement between the SEC and Disney that will result in all of the league’s home games being televised by ESPN and its affiliates, including ABC. As part of the agreement, more game times are being announced before the season.
As part of the former agreement that included a signature game of the week on CBS, game times typically were not announced until 12 days before kickoff. In some instances CBS had the ability to withhold its choice until six days before kickoff.
