We’re now roughly five months into the renovation project at Doak Campbell Stadium, as well as the construction of Florida State’s football-only facility — here’s a look at how things currently look, with some footage provided by Sunflower AeroCine exclusively to Tomahawk Nation:
Doak Campbell Stadium to feature limited seating in the 2024 season ahead of the anticipated 2025 finish date — the entire west side will be under construction during the 2024 season and all-season tickets will be impacted, with west sideline capacity to be reduced to about 7,000 seats due to construction.
Florida State’s football-only facility, when finished, will be a 150,000-square-foot building housing operational and amenity spaces for players and personnel including:

Florida State men’s golf graduated senior Frederik Kjettrup was named to the Division I PING All-America Second Team on Wednesday, becoming just the fourth three-time All-American in program history:
Kjettrup, a native of Aabybro, Denmark, earns his third straight All-America honor after receiving honorable mention accolades in 2022 and 2023. Fittingly, he stepped up his play as a senior and recorded a career-low 70.66 stroke average – the eighth-lowest all-time at FSU among players whom competed for a full year (fall and spring seasons).
Kjettrup joins Nolan Henke (1983-87), John Pak (2017-21) and former teammate Brett Roberts (2020-24) among the three-time All-Americans at FSU. He joins Luke Clanton on this year’s PING All-America Team, as Clanton was recognized as a first-team performer last week.
In his outstanding senior season, Kjettrup garnered six Top-10 finishes in 11 tournaments played and earned ACC Co-Medalist honors after co-winning the stroke play portion of the ACC Championships. In the NCAA Stanford Regional, he tied for second place and then delivered the clinching putt to send the Seminoles to the National Championship Match when he defeated Georgia Tech’s Hiroshi Tai, 3&1.
Kjettrup joined Clanton on Monday in qualifying for the upcoming 2024 U.S. Open held at Pinehurst Resort, which is held next week from June 13-16.
Among players who competed for all four years, Kjettrup leaves the Seminoles with the second-lowest career average at 71.29.
Kjettrup finished eighth in the 2024 PGA TOUR University Rankings, earning exemption to the PGA TOUR Americas as well as conditional Korn Ferry Tour status for those who finish 6-10 in the rankings.
Florida State track and field athlete Jeremiah Davis won silver in the men’s long jump at the 024 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which kicked off on Wednesday:
Davis secured his second career NCAA runner-up finish in the event with a season best of 8.07m (26-5¾), capturing his third consecutive outdoor first-team All-American honors.
In addition to Davis, Jordan Turner placed 16th with a mark of 7.52m (24-8¼). Curtis Williams rounded out the event, placing 21st with a mark of 7.33m (24-¾).
Tyson Williams concluded his season in the 110-meter hurdles, placing 17th with a time of 13.66.
The men’s team currently stands in fifth place with eight points.
The 20th ranked women’s team will begin competition on Thursday, starting with the women’s 1,500 meter at 5:30 p.m.

Florida State men’s basketball will play Temple (November 22, 5:00 p.m.) and UMass (November 24, 5:00 p.m.) in the 2024 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut:
The round-robin tournament with predetermined opponents also includes Vermont, Delaware, Yale and Fairfield along with the Seminoles, the Owls, and the Minutemen.
The Seminoles begin play in the event against Temple from the American Athletic Conference in a series that began in 1992. The Seminoles won the first game of the series in a game played in the Milk Challenge in Orlando, and most recently faced the Owls in the 2016 NIT Tip-Off at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Florida State concludes play in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Classic against UMass and head coach Frank Martin in the renewal of a series that also began in 1992. The Seminoles and the Minutemen are tied 4-4 in the all-time series, with the most recent game between the teams taking place at the 2014 Naismith Hall of Fame Classic at the Mohegan Sun. Florida State has won three of the last four games against UMass including a 73-63 win on February 12, 2006, at the Donald L. Tucker Center in Tallahassee.
“We are very excited to play in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Classic against two well-coached teams who will challenge all of our offensive and defensive principles,” said Hamilton. “Both Temple (by Adam Fisher) and Massachusetts (by Coach Martin) are always well-coached and well-prepared for every opponent. We also know that both teams are going to play hard. These are two really good games for us in November that will help prepare us for ACC play, which will be right around the corner after the tournament at the Mohegan Sun.”
