Butler United Football Club (FC) has announced that youth soccer sign-ups are now open for children aged 7 and up. The club, in its third year, is dedicated to making competitive soccer accessible to local youth.
Club President Brandon Slagley highlighted the club’s mission to reduce financial barriers for families.
“We started this primarily to reduce the financial burden and give kids access to competitive soccer,” Slagley said. “There were a lot of kids that were interested but couldn’t get to Montgomery or Troy.”
Registration fees include uniforms and initial tournament costs, though fees may change based on tournament availability.
“The competition is pretty intense. These kids have all been playing for a few years already, so for the older kids (12-18) a basic knowledge is good to have,” said Ashley Adams, vice president of the FC. “For the younger kids, starting out fresh is great because they can start learning proper technique.”
“We do tournaments throughout the state and places like Birmingham, Auburn, Dothan, and Montgomery,” Adams noted. “This is only our third year so we’re always looking for sponsors to support our growth.”
“The number of teams we form will depend on how many people sign up,” Slagley added. “ People are just not familiar with the club, so we really need to get the word out.”
Community members or local businesses interested in sponsorship opportunities should contact Ashley Adams at 334-437-0717.
