Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s 3-2 win over the Philippines in the World Cup qualifier on June 6 evening has caught attention from FIFA, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the Asian media.

The FIFA World Cup page on Facebook, with more than 59 million followers, posted two statuses: “Toi van dang nin tho day!” (I’m still holding my breath) with a photo of Tuan Hai scoring and “Vietnam with a 90 5 winner!” along with an overall of the match which witnessed five goals scored within just the last 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, on its website, the AFC wrote that Vietnam came back from a goal down to edge the Philippines 3-2 in Group F of their Preliminary Joint Qualification.

After summarising the main developments of the match, it concluded that “Pham Tuan Hai scored the winner in second half added time as Vietnam kept their hopes alive, moving within one point of second-placed Indonesia in the standings”.
