Week 9 of the 2024 UFL regular season saw some notable upsets.
The Birmingham Stallions (8-1) were narrowly defeated by the playoff-bound San Antonio Brahmas (7-2) in a game between two of the league’s best teams. The St. Louis Battlehawks (6-3), meanwhile, were caught off guard by the Arlington Renegades (2-7) in what could be considered the biggest surprise of the season so far.
The D.C. Defenders (4-5), already eliminated from playoff contention, handled their business against the Memphis Showboats (1-8). The Michigan Panthers (7-2) narrowly escaped a colossal upset with a 26-22 win against the lowly Houston Roughnecks (1-8).
The four playoff qualifiers will face each other on Saturday, while Sunday’s slate will see the non-playoff teams look to end the season on a high note. The postseason will start next weekend and determine which teams will play in the championship game later this month.
