Partey
Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey says he is ready to use his experience to help the team’s young players excel so Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team gets an important win over Mali.
Ghana take on Mali in Bamako on Thursday, June 6 at 19:00 GMT with the Black Stars needing to beat the host country to stand any chance of progressing to the 2026 World Cup.
The Black Stars have a win and a loss to Madagascar and Comoros respectively heading into the game.
Partey will serve as captain against Mali and June 10’s matchup against Central African Republic (CAR) due to Dede Ayew’s absence after the veteran player was dropped by Black Stars head coach Otto Addo.
” I know I haven’t played recently for the team but I have played a lot of matches for the Black Stars since my debut. I have the experience to help the young group of players to get the kind of result we want.”
Due to injuries, Partey missed out on a significant section of Arsenal’s 2023-2024 campaign but recovered to end the season on a strong note.
