Moroccan star Adel Taarabt has opened up about his relationship with the Atlas Lions’ head coach Walid Regragui.
Since Regragui took over from Vahid Halilhodzic as Morocco coach in August 2022, current Al-Nassr player Taarabt has never played for the North African giants.
The 35-year-old attacking midfielder’s last appearance for the Atlas Lions came against the USA in an international friendly match in July 2022.
Taarabt has disclosed that he ‘never got along’ with the former Morocco international Regragui who guided the Atlas Lions to the 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-finals.
“I never got along with Walid Regragui,” Taarabt said on Hespress according to Afri-Foot.
“Even when we were teammates, I didn’t like playing with him. I don’t like his style of play.”
The duo were briefly Morocco teammates in 2009 which is also the same year Regragui’s international career came to an end.
Taarabt has 30 caps and four goals for the Atlas Lions.
