U.S. Olympic hopeful Gianluca Busio assisted on Christian Gytkjaer’s 24th-minute goal in Venezia’s 1-0 win over Cremonese but had to be helped off the field in the 59th minute while clutching his thigh.
The victory earned Venezia promotion to Italy’s Serie A. Busio and fellow U.S. U-23 midfielder Tanner Tessmann played crucial roles in Venezia’s third-place finish, which qualified it for the promotion playoffs.

With the first leg of the Venezia-Cremonese finals series ending in a 0-0 tie, Venezia as the higher needed only a tie in the second leg it hosted to secure promotion.
Duncan Niederauer, the former CEO of the New York Stock Exchange, became Venezia FC owner in 2020 and serves as club president.
Busio and Tessman arrived in Venice for the 2021-22 season, which marked Venezia’s first Serie A season in 19 years. It was relegated with a 20th-place finish. Last season’s quest to return to the top tier ended with a loss in the preliminary-round playoff after an 8th-place finish.
Parma and Como earned Serie A promotion as first- and second-place finishers. Spezia, Cremonese and Sampdoria were relegated from Serie A.

He was Grabbing his Hamstring when he went Down… Just after having Stretched for a Weird Angle Shot… Hopefully it was Just a Cramp… He seemed to be Moving Pretty Good and Happy, getting Ready to Invade the Pitch at the End of the Game. Video Feed Cut Off So Quick, didn’t get to see the Celebrations… Shame on Fox Deportes.!!!
My Only Concern Now Is; Will the Club say NO to Busio and Tessman going to the Olympics.???
It will be Right about When they will be “Forming” the New Team in Pre-Season to get Ready for SerieA.!!!
